I wish I was friends with Jessie Senese of Shop Sweet Lulu so she would throw me parties. Jessie does not throw plain old shin-digs with supplies from the local Party Pig, oh no this woman picks a theme and runs with it.  Recently, when a friend of her's had a book published she opted for a vintage inspired craft party to celebrate.  Who knew sewing baskets, bowls of colorful buttons and fabric scraps could look so cute and festive? I have never thought of my craft supplies as party decor, but now that I have I am already planning a soiree.

Jessie shares oodles of cute pictures from the party on her blog and also a few pearls of wisdom about throwing your own craft party:

Do not ply your friends with food and wine and then expect them to sit down and listen to you teach them how to thread a needle and sew a running stitch. They are too busy giggling and chatting.

I know! Isn't it just the cutest theme for a party. Would be cute for a baby or wedding shower if the bride or mom to be was crafty.
