Vintage TV Dog Bed

BlogHer Spotlight

[Editor's Note: I love projects that recycle discarded TVs. I have long dreamed of owning an aquarium made from an old TV. I once made a giant picture frame using the front to an vintage TV I picked up at a flea market. My new favorite project for an out-of-date TV is a dog bed. Blogger Sara Alleman has some serious love for her dog Igor. Her blog is even named after him, Endorsed By Igor. It would only make sense that she would build him a fabulous custom dog house. I just love that she did it with so much kitsch factor and at the same time saved something from a landfill. I want one for my dog, but I think I would have a really hard time finding a console to fit a 140lb English Mastiff. - Jen]

Sara does not sugar coat the intensity of this up-cycle: "Cleaning out the guts took all of 5 minutes, then the real pain the ass started. Once THE TUBE is out, you're faced with 35 bolts and 55 tight staples. "
