The story drew hundreds of comments. But while some parents were elated by the coverage, Margot Magowan at Reel Girl thought it was strangely rife with sexism and wasn't happy with writer Ruth Padawer's portrayal of girls.--Mona]
Does this writer have young daughters? Has Padawer heard about the boy’s baseball team from Our Lady of Sorrows that recently forfeited rather than play a girl? Or what about Katie, the girl who was bullied just because she brought her Star Wars lunch box, a “boy thing,” to school?
