When I Grow Up...Roller Derby!
Being told that you're "too old" for Roller Derby sounded like a pretty clear challenge to this mother of EIGHT, with three still at home. One thing is for sure, you're never too old to dream:
"When I was a kid - like in 8th grade - I lived at the roller skating rink. LIVED THERE. A minimum of two, sometimes three nights a week my friend Nell's mom would drive us to the rink (which was not nearby, mind you) and we'd skate the night away, flirting with boys and winning all the synchronized skating contests. Yes, we were a force to be reckoned with. If I could go back in time to any age, it would be then. Life wasn't too complicated yet, and I was still somewhat innocent. Then I learned about roller derby, and I wanted to do that, but I was still very shy, and certainly not very tough...."
