I often find that what I'm reading influences the way I read and speak. It happens to all of us. Sometimes, especially if I've been reading something written in dialect, it can be downright irritating. If I'm trying to evoke a specific mood or tone in my writing, going back and reading something with that voice can be a useful tool. I'm completely with Angela on this one -- we are what we read. - Karen
"We are what we read. Our subconscious processes all of the information we feed our brains, and it weaves things together to create patterns, similarities, and a world that makes sense.
Instead of working against the influence of our reading selves, we need to embrace it. Find work that speaks not just to the reader in your heart but to the writer in your head, the one you want to be."
