Another the 6-8 inches dumped on ND Monday/Tuesday, the man came home a day late after some higher up decided roads shouldn't be traveled out there. Which meant I was out in my 2-car driveway for quite a few hours(broken up), clearing it of a good 6 inches of fairly frozen snow. My back has been screaming ever since :-(.
The man, being cranky from lack of sleep and abundance of incomptence, finally got home near dinnertime today. I was very happy to see him. Until the first words left his mouth "Why didn't you clear the whole driveway?!". Silly me, I thought shoveling till I saw grass meant that I had! He shoveled, then basicallly ran to the bedroom to sleep. I think he realized how ridiculous he was being.
I can tell I've had less adult contact, specifically fellow parent time. My patience is worn very, very thin right now. I did do the 'fun mommy' thing and went out to make a snowman with the girls today, since my back was finally feeling better. I'm sad that I missed Zumba--if nothing else, it means my mind is free and clear for an hour. Too busy trying to keep up to think about anything but the steps!
We have many Halloween events coming up, starting with a kiddie party tomorrow, then an adult one immediately afterward. Then there's the day itself, with another kiddie party and, of course, trick or treating. Which should be interesting, considering the snow probably won't melt significantly until Monday/Tuesday of next week. I have a feeling I will be scouting out shoveled sidewalks before we head out (mine is currently in the 'not' category--I felt I'd done enough by clearing car space and getting a bruise on my leg from leaning the shovel to lift the hunks of snow). It was much warmer (by which I mean 30 with little wind) today, so we should be okay Sunday. If nothing else, the mall has an annual indoor trick or treat that we've never tried before.
Oh, the Midwest.
I'm feeling more motherly now. Let the weekend begin!
