Fortune magazine Editor-at-Large Pattie Sellers has said: “Unlike the guys, who tend to view power as ‘up the ladder,’ women typically define power as ‘influence.’" They use that influence -- and expand its sphere -- by sharing the wealth of their experience, and mentoring others. And that’s exactly what’s going to be happening at BlogHer | bet '11, our new conference for women who have BIG business ideas in technology. Sellers joins fifty powerhouse women -- all successes by any measure -- in leading panel discussions and working with one hundred custom-paired mentees. It’s less than a month away, and we’re getting more excited by the day!
This is the fourth in a series of posts introducing the impressive women who will be serving as speakers and mentors. We’ve already highlighted Charlene Li, Sandy Carter, Adriana Gascoigne, Theresia Gouw Ranzetta, Megan Smith, Nicole Lazzaro, Liz Dolan, and Laura Fitton. Today we’d like to introduce you to five more: Amy Chang, director of Google's measurement and reporting initiatives; Cindy Padnos, founding managing director of Illuminate Ventures; Natalia Oberti Noguera, founder and CEO of Pipeline Fund; Wendy Lea, CEO of Get Satisfaction; and Pattie Sellers, editor-at-large, Fortune Magazine and co-chair, Most Powerful Women Summit.
As director of Google’s advertiser measurement & reporting efforts, Amy Chang sets direction and vision for Google Analytics and scaled the team from a handful of staffers to over a hundred. She’s credited with bringing the product to over half a million of Alexa’s top million sites worldwide, changing the face of the web analytics and media measurement industries. Before her work at Google, Amy worked with eBay on their product strategy team, McKinsey&Co as a consultant specializing in semiconductor, software, and services and with Intel, AMD, and Motorola as a hardware engineer. To learn more about Amy, you can read her bio here.
Cindy Padnos is the founding managing director of Illuminate Ventures, an early stage VC firm that targets U.S.-based, high-growth companies in selected sectors within the high-tech landscape. She draws on vast experience in the VC ecosystem as an investor and consultant, which followed two decades of work as founder and CEO of venture-backed Vivant, an innovative SaaS company (acquired by EVLV); president and CEO of Acumen (M&A); founding vice president of marketing at Scopus Technology (IPO) and management positions at IDE, Ingres, and ATT. To learn more about Cindy, you can read her bio here.
Natalia Oberti Noguera is passionate about women’s empowerment. She founded and is CEO of the Pipeline Fund, a social venture fund that invests in women-led, for-profit social ventures. Pipeline also trains women to become angel investors through education, mentoring, and practice. In addition, Natalia created #womaninnovator, a media campaign to increase the visibility of women change-makers and mainstream their stories and is the chapter leader of New York Women Social Entrepreneurs (NYWSE). To learn more about Natalia, you can read her bio here.
With experience ranging from bootstrap entrepreneur to corporate executive to angel investor for venture-backed start-ups, it’s easy to understand Wendy Lea’s recognition as one of 100 Top Women of Influence in Silicon Valley. She’s CEO of Get Satisfaction, a community-based platform that helps companies increase customer satisfaction and product insight while enhancing customer loyalty through open and transparent conversations. She founded The Chatham Group, where she currently serves as an angel investor, board member and strategic adviser for a long list of start-up companies.
