And, just a little planning this year will save you tons of time next. Here's what you'll need to get started. 1. Clear plastic totes or cardboard boxes. If you don't already have plastic totes, they can be a bit expensive to buy. But they'll last for years and they do a very good job of keeping out the pests and rodents. Happy Chanukah!

I am in dire need of holiday cheer. Peanut, H and I are still sick. I had no voice for most of the day. So my parents came over for a quiet but lovely dinner and to help out with Peanut. Well, things did not go as planned. They came and we were having a great time all the way up until it was time to light the candles. That is, of course, when the fire alarm went off. Now, I live in a condo/townhouse, so if the alarm goes off in the condo building (which was the case), the alarm goes off in the townhouses as ...more

Wanna get a tree?

This said at about 3:30 pm friday night as the temp was dropping and snow clouds were threatening. Okay, fine. We usually do this with dad, but fine. We are woman. Because honestly when I look at places or events that say they are or try to be Zero Waste, there are items in their recycling and compost bins. Often there's even a little itty bitty bit of trash that goes off to the landfill. ...more

Mojo’s Reindeer

Quick update on Mojo’s stocking situation. This weekend, while at the Greatest Store Of All Time, we found an adorable reindeer stocking holder that matched our bronze ones perfectly for half the price of the Pottery Barn ones. I was tickled pink and naturally wanted the reindeer to hold my own stocking, but finally felt that I would show my affection towards the cat by giving him the best stocking holder of the four. ...more

Kitty Ornament

Every year, I start drooling with glee when I pull my all-time favorite ornament out of the Christmas decorations Tupperware. When I was a baby, a lady that my parents knew made this felt kitty for me. When it started to age past year twenty, Mom would beg that I put the kitty towards the back of the tree to make room for some of the classier ornaments. But I would hear nothing of it. ...more
