My dear sweet sister Mary died on December 10th. After our mother died in 2001, Mary was the closest thing I had to a mother. I am the youngest of nine children, and, although I still have several living siblings, this loss - especially so close to the holidays - has been very hard to bear. I remember Mary as a fiercely independent woman who loved to truly experience life, travel, have adventures, and had a marvelously demented sense of humor. Her decline and death has left a hole in my heart, and it will take a long time for that to heal. ...more

End of Year - Goal Planning, Mission Statement

I wrote a few weeks ago about the process that I use every December to see how far I've come and light the way for the coming year. I wrote that I would share some of that with you, so here I am again. I do have to start by saying that a lot of this, I got from other sources, predominantly from Franklin Covey. Trying to get the jist of it all

Today I made a connection with a co-worker. She is roughly around my antiqueness, and high energy like myself. I have always enjoyed talking to her too, it's just today was a lil out of the ordinary. We take the same lil 'happy' pill, or used to anyway. We connected over the side effects and withdrawl. In the end we were talking about why we were on them. In a twisted way it was nice. The Big Deep

I need to sleep but I can’t. Sometimes, the end of a day is a sad thing, like the end of a book that is so good you just don’t want it to end, what will the end of life be? Like when I finished the Harry Potter’s? Or now that I’m waiting feverishly for Breaking Dawn and coming to the realization that Bella is got to become a vampire in one of these books for sure. But anyway, seriously, will it be like that just like when a story ends and there is a slightly stilling moment and then nothing? ...more
