Total It Up
Have you ever been surprised at the checkout counter when your total is higher than expected? Well even experienced couponers have been known to miscalculate; I know I have in the past, that’s when I stated tallying. To prevent that shock at the end of a shopping trip here are some tips to follow:
Do your researching check and double check your circulars and online advertising for the store you’re shopping. While jotting down your shopping list record the price of each item as you know it. Keeping a price book of regular purchase prices will help. Remember to total based on price and quantity and coupon value.
Example shopping list:
Meats: Price Quantity Coupon(s) Total after coupon(s)
Lloyd’s Lunch Tubs $2.50 2 2 (-1.00 ea) $3.00
If you’ll be earning rewards or Catalinas from your purchase, write this at the bottom of your list.
Remember to leave space between your listed items for those store coupon find or price changes.
Check your list, count your coupons and quantities before heading to the checkout and don’t forget count all of your discounts you reward points; Catalinas gift cards etc for your total transaction. Always verify your receipt before leaving the stores make sure all of your coupons have been deducted and that the items ran up at the proper price. Following these steps will help to keep your checkout surprise free. For more tips and savings visit www.where2save.com
