Spring Organizing Challenge: Day 4
By MS. Simplicity on March 23, 2011
I love today's organizing challenge as it can have a social element invovled with it! So today with this Spring organizing challenge I would like you to look at all of your craft supplies.
Here are 3 options for today's challenge:
- 1. Finish the project in the next year. Take a serious look at them and think about when in the next 6 months to a year will you have time to work on them. I have walked this walk already as I love to take time to be creative and use the right side of my brain. I had cross stitched beautiful Christmas stockings for my family.....except for my youngest son. Having 3 kids in 5 years kind of put a damper on my sitting with DMC floss and a pattern for hours on end. This poor kid had a stocking that was not like anyone elses. His was half way done for 8 years and I just couldn't find the time to finish it. But then a girlfriend of mine had to have surgery out of town and have a recovery period for 4 days before we drove back home. That was my time to sit and stitch. She recovered and I took care of her and I could get the stocking done. And I did!
- 2. Donate: I also had a stamping collection for making homemade cards. Hadn't touched them in years and they were taking up room in a closet. I grabbed the entire collection and gave them to a teacher at my son's school who I knew did stamping. She was thrilled and I was thrilled!
- 3. Complete with a group of friends: My friend Beth gave me this idea. She and a group of friends gathered all of their unfinished crafts and made it a girls night out. Had some wine and appetizers and worked on crafts. They helped each other with the crafts and after a night of fun they then sold the crafts and donated the money raised to a charity.....they made $1,000!
So what will be your option?
Now when I buy craft supplies I want it where it is a project in a box and I have to be able to do it in an afternoon. I found some really cute options at a craft store and I can't wait to get them done.....oh gosh, I have had them for a over a month already, I better get going!
Wondering what this challenge is all about? Here are the details:
Before you can tackle your Spring Cleaning you must first get your Spring Flinging done, or as I like to call it “Spring Green Fling”, because I want you to be green as you are getting rid of the items that no longer are going to be in your home. I am going to challenge my readers and followers on facebook to join me as we get organized before we start our Spring Cleaning. This challenge will last 10 days and will close at midnight CST on March 30, 2011. I even have a prize at the end of the challenge. The winner will receive one hour of my organizing services. Don’t live by me, no worries as we can chat on the phone or via Skype or even do your organizing through email.
To be entered in the challenge you need to post a comment on my blog or post a comment on my facebook page. Each comment you get one point. Each point will enter you in the drawing for the free organizing hour. Invite your friends and family to join and tell me you invited them and you will get 2 points! For example if you get 50 points, you get 50 chances to win!
Remember to share with your friends and family, as you know if you send this to your mother she will spam all her friends with this…..go ahead, they wont mind!
