photo by Anne's FoodIf there's a season for nuts, it should be fall, during the fall harvest. Well, it is fall, yes? in the southern hemisphere so perhaps that explains the sudden rush of food blogger recipes featuring hazelnuts. Or perhaps, we're just getting a tad bit, ahem, squirrely. (Or would that be, so sorry, you know it's coming right, nutty?)

And you, are hazelnuts on your list? Have you had success with hazelnuts recently? Leave a comment! If you're a blogger, better yet, become a BlogHer member and post an introduction to your post here, linking to your recipe on your own blog.

BlogHer food editor Alanna Kellogg uses nuts year-round but knows that when it's spring, we need asparagus recipes and when it's fall, we need pumpkin recipes (what Australians call winter squash).

and say I never use hazelnuts.  But then I went home on friday and there was a giant bag of hazelnuts on the bench.  My husband had found a recipe for 'Pear, Hazelnut and Dark Chocolate Cake'.

He made it.  I am not going to blog about it.  Because it's fattening just to talk about it's beautiful, oozy-crunchy-fruity goodness.

I may link to the photo though.

I love the delicious little balls of crunchy goodness.

For a distinctly autumn flavour, this pumpkin, hazelnut and blue cheese salad makes a regular appearance at Chez KP

Hazelnuts are not just for autumn. They appear every summer at Christmas time in my super festive raspberry and feta salad

I am in the southern hemisphere and I always use a lot of nuts. I'll have to keep an eye on myself and see if I'm using more now that we've entered autumn.

I just might make this one for myself. I have all the ingredients in the house!

I wonder how it would taste topped with whipped cream. :)

My son loves hazelnut anything, so for a special dessert for him I take a pre-made individual pizza crust, spread it with nutella, sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts, bake for 8 minutes, then top with sliced strawberries. Yum!

She can detect even the tiniest amount of hazelnuts in foods. I was amazed to find out that she dislikes my favorite, decadent, addictive chocolate spread, which was mentioned above - Nutella.

Reading Cherre's comment made me think that hazelnuts, with their distinct taste, probably get strong reactions out of people. It might be a "either love it or hate it/ can't tolerate it" type of food.

The chocolate tart with hazelnut crust looks amazing.

Isn't that weird? So none here, but I do love almonds, which I bet I could substitute in any of these recipes. Yes?
