Have you ever found yourself scrambling to find something green to wear on St. Patrick's Day? Did you have to settle for something lame like a scarf with a green border (like someone I know) because your only alternative was ::shudder:: a pair of tacky trolls-dressed-as-leprechauns earrings from Walgreen's?
Well, I'm here to help.
Confession time: I love green, and will happily wear it in everything from undies to emeralds. But even if you don't love green, there are a lot of beautiful and affordable things to buy online right now. If you start shopping now, you'll look spring-like, sophisticated, and stylish on St. Patrick's Day--and nobody will pinch you!
If you love green, live where it's still cold, and want to splurge, J. Crew has a gorgeous feather-light cashmere tunic in Crisp Celery, currently on sale for $119.99
Or get frugal (and real) with this Old Navy printed cardigan. If you can wear a tall size, it's on sale right now for $9.99. If that works for you, (click here for a size guide) this is a deal.
Cut + Paste has this unusual Makool 3/4 sleeved hemp jacket marked down from $170 to $100.

A more classic and affordable alternative is this 3/4-length cotton trench coat from Chadwicks for $39.99
Banana Republic has some beautiful green silk blouses. This one in Mojito green is lovely, and priced well at $59.00.

(Mmmm ... mojitos. Who needs green beer?)
If green really isn't your best color, try an accessory. Piper Lime has these Cindy Kirk "Get in the Green" organic cotton totes for $30. Wear green today, shop green tomorrow.
Bonbi Forest (the Etsy of England) has a Victorian silhouette resin necklace
for £22. (Remember, the dollar is strong right now!)
Target has Merona vicoise scarves for $12.99
Be a wild Irish rose in this green lucite ring, available at GirlPROPS for $4.99.
And of course, if you're hard-core and you hurry, you can get the real deal on Etsy:

Hand-knit Irish mini-gauntlets--$15 from the Love-Lambie shop.
Finally, for the makeup-obsessed and the frivolous: how about Make Up For Ever (MUFE) eyeshadow in Irish Green ... and for a pot of gold, try Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Cream Shadow in Sandy Gold!
Have fun--and remember--Erin go braless!

(Thanks and a top of the morning to Twitter buddies @jasmined, @stephanieelliot, and @sumshel for their help!)

covered in Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask.
But then I decided to act like an adult for once.

Green-a-go-go
Yay! Fun post! Now wondering if red lipstick and green eye shadow will clash. I'm sure they will, I'm just trying to calculate the severity.
Personally, I'm thinking that would be more
of a Christmas look.
But your mileage may vary, of course.

Green green green!
Urban Decay has some great green eyeliners and eyeshadows - "Covet" and "Graffiti" are their two green eyeliners, which last all day.
Also, if you've got time to do your nails, there are a lot of great green nail polishes out there! I have to decide if I want to go with sparkly, dark, or bright green...

Green eyeshadow could easily be a post all by
itself. Easily.
In fact, green eyeshadow is a whole world.
I love, love, love UD shadows. Also Mac's humid. And I have the Pop Beauty green palette. And I'm very partial to Jane's Twilight Zone used as liner. I stockpiled it when they discontinued it. {Bursts into baby tears and runs away sobbing.}

I hear ya!
My collection of green shadows is mighty. Almost as mighty as my purple collection.
But yes, if one is stuck in Walgreens searching for last-minute green, they carry Sinful Colors nail polish, which has a great green called San Francisco... for two bucks a bottle.
