If you have a startup in the early stages, here's a great competition that could help you get your business going. It's PITCH: Women 2.0 Startup Competition. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2011.

Here are the basics.

The 5th Annual PITCH: Women 2.0 Startup Competition is open to early-stage ventures around the world, from high growth business ventures in mobile to web, from double bottom line businesses to connected devices.

Applying companies must have a female in the founding team, be in beta stage, and have received less than a million in funding.

The application form is online. You can start and stop on getting the form completed, as long as it's submitted by the deadline. In addition to the online application form you also have to mail in a napkin business plan. Seriously, your business idea scribbled on a paper napkin. A two minute video pitch must also be sent.

Applications must fall into one of these areas:

  • Social (mobile and web)
  • Double bottom line
  • Connected devices

Registration for the Women 2.0 PITCH Conference is open to both men and women. The conference is in San Francisco on February 2, 2012.

The purpose of the competition is to increase the number of female founders of tech startups. You have to pay a fee to enter, but all applicants and finalists gain exposure and access to investors, and the finalists get to make their pitch in person.

Good luck, ladies!

Betsy from Bing here - wanted to encourage folks to apply to Women 2.0 PITCH and remind them Bing is PAYING FOR FIRST 100 APPLICANTS! (What are you waitinig for? :) ) We wanted no barrier to entry in order to encourage folks to compete while still helping Women 2.0 meet their cost of the conference. See our post at the Bing Booster blog http://www.bingbooster.com/2011/11/bing-boosts-wom... or on Women 2.0 for more info http://www.women2.org/bing-gives-women-a-boost-at-... ! Go for it!
