Stay In Shape When It's Cold Outside: 5 Winter Workout Ideas
by Catherine Morgan

Do you enjoy outdoor activities to stay in shape? Is the cold weather keeping you from your workouts? Here are a few quick winter workout ideas...

- If you enjoy walking but it's too cold outside, try walking the halls and steps at your office, or at your local mall (you can do your holiday shopping too).

- Use home exercise equipment, like a treadmill or stationary bike. You can save money by purchasing one at a second hand shop or garage sale.

- Have a friend over and do a workout video together, or dance around the house with the kids.

- Join an aerobic or yoga class.

- There's always the Wii Fit - If I could afford one, that's the way I would go.

What do you do to stay active during the cold winter months?

Nice Post. I lived in Hawaii

Nice Post. I lived in Hawaii for 2 years before moving to Colorado. Needless to say the weather is a shocker and I just can't bring myself to head out in the cold and snow to get in a workout. I have the Wii Fit and I just wanted to add that personally, the workouts are just not enough. They are fun and do get your heart rate going, but just not enough to constitute a good workout. Dance Dance Revolution is a decent video game workout too but again, maybe not enough. Personally, I love running around the apartment with my dog. That way we both get some exercise.

On Demand

So just today I learned I have ON DEMAND as part of my comcast package...and it comes with workouts! Seeing as I cancelled my Blockbuster subscription in a fit of rage and have never gotten around to buying work out DVDs, this was a great discovery.
