Still a Double Burden?
by stephA

I have mixed feelings on the following topic.

I came to a predominately white school, which I'm still trying to adjust to. However, ever since I came to this school, I find myself questioning (more that ever before) the racial politics in the United States. Am I really thought of as inferior because I'm a Hispanic female? I don't really have an answer to that question. I try not be the person who thinks that every rude comment or look that is directed towards me is done because I'm a Latina but I also don't want to go through life oblivious to the problems that surround all the women in my situation.

We would all like to think that we live in an ENTIRELY equal society but the truth is that we don't. But I'm still wondering, is living in America as a Hispanic female a double burden?
