If there is only one movie you see about the Iraqi war (besides No End in Sight) make it Stop- Loss.
This incredible film by director Kimberly Pierce will let you see the
war that is going to take place when our soldiers finally come home.
While I didn’t care much for the MTV style opening with fancy effects
and dutch angle shots, the film improved considerably once it comes
home. Ryan Phillipe performance as a solider who is has been released
and then reassigned is incredible. I have never been a big fan of his
but in this movie, he works. Perhaps it was because of Abbie Cornish
who really worked for me until I realized she was the ‘other woman’
that caused the Mommy Reese divorce.
I give it 9 out of 10 binkies.
