SUMMER SAVINGS: CAMPING

With the official start of summer beginning later this week I thought I  would  give some ways to save on a favorite and relatively inexpensive family time camping.

Summer Camping can be fun and inexpensive if you plan ahead and with some creativity you can save and not sacrifice comfort. Many national park services’s offer the option to stay in a cabin, lodges and inns at bargain rates. Visit www.nps.gov for location, prices, and amenities- pools, laundry breakfast. These fill up fast so schedule soon.

Look for a free night if you’re traveling more than one day and staying at a hotel. Check www.choicehotels.com/earnfreenight  to see if a discount is available during your trip there may be other deals on various hotels there as well so check before booking your hotel stay.

www.freetrip.com  is a website that will e-mail you lodging possibilities that include motels, chains and campgrounds, along our travel route. Another great site for less well-know overnight stays visit www.aaa.com

Looking for upscale  lodging at a discount price then subscribe to Groupon and when an deal is on Groupon in the city you’re interested in you’ll get a notice.

For tips on booking on Priceline or Hotwire  visit www.biddingfortravel.com  this is where frugal travelers give their best advice on how to get the best deals on hotel stays.

I f you are a member of the Military,  AAA, or  AARP  you’re entitled to a reduced rate at many motels and hotels chains check the site of your favorite hotel for details.

Tip: Waiting for summer to camp out can be fun, however if you’re looking to save and give back check out KOA.com for site that are offering Free camping  at different times this summer check out the site for details in your state.
