We've got a brief family vacation coming up next week and I have a little secret for you...
I'm not looking forward to it.
We'll be headed to an amusement park in Santa Claus, Indiana and staying in a hotel room that's actually an RV. In an RV park. Yes, in Santa Claus, they have RV hotel rooms. Because that is how they roll.
Honestly, this sort of thing is so crazy, it would generally be right up my alley.
Add a 2-year-old and a 5-year-old to the mix, though, and it's so not up my alley. In fact, it's basically a nightmare.
However, I will bravely soldier on, because that is what moms do, and I will thank my lucky stars that my parents have agreed to take the little ones when we go to the beach for a week in July!
Plenty of you are writing about summer vacations this week as well. Here are a few highlights.
Minnemom writes an entire blog around traveling with children called, appropriately, Travels with Children. She links to lots of different blogs featuring ideas on what to do with children when traveling in specific cities.
Kids Can Travel is a really cool site that lets you search all over the world for area-specific information on traveling with children.
Pass the Torch recently did a series on family travel, from how to do it affordably to booking condos and timeshares.
Got any more great family travel stories and/or tips? Leave them in the comments!
