SWAG HER

"We are such stuff/As dreams are made on." (Shakespeare)

The burning question I will confront at BlogHer ’12 is, of course, “What to do with all the cool swag?“

For me, BlogHer is more like “HogHer.”  Shucks. So much swag, so little suitcase space.

The swag is irresistible. Great product samples. Lovely gift items. Amazing freebies. The BlogHer sponsors got the goodies! While not exactly cashmere sweaters and diamond tennis bracelets, it is quality stuff.

In San Diego (BlogHer ’11) among the FUN items I bagged were: a teddy bear size California Raisin cuddly, a high-end travel pillow, a variety of interesting sex toys (these were hot), an inflatable beach ball, custom shoe inserts, enough Dove chocolate for Halloween, and a nasal irrigation system for God’s sake.

What to do with it all? I’ve seen the products hoarded, swapped, slapped on eBay, and used as blog giveaways, contest prizes, restaurant tips, and bribes for your kids.

I personally suggest they serve well as nifty stocking stuffers and teacher gifts. With the money you save on holiday gifts, you’ll have the dough for BlogHer ’13.
