Hubby has, shall we say, very unique beliefs in many odd things. This is not a new story. It is not the only one of its kind either. This particular conversation happened about 8 or 9 years ago.
One morning Hubby was rooting around in his sock drawer muttering to himself as he was getting dressed. I asked Hubby what was wrong, thinking he need help differentiating between navy and black socks.
He looked me in the eye and stated "I can't find any left socks".
Me - What do you mean left socks?
Hubby - Left socks. You know, left socks. For your left foot. I can only find right socks.
Me - What on earth do you mean left socks for your left foot?
Hubby - You have two feet, a left foot and a right foot. You have 2 socks, a left sock for your left foot and a right sock for your right foot.
Me - Um, ah, no - you have two feet. That is why socks are sold in pairs. There are no left or right socks.
Hubby - (getting irritated with me now) YES there are!
Me - (just a tad bit snarky now) And how to you tell the difference between left and right socks then?
Hubby - By the toes, you can see the slant from the big toe to the little toe. The longer part is where the big toe goes and that tells you the left from the right.
At that point I just stared at the man trying very hard not to laugh out loud.
*sigh*
Hubby still believes there are left and right socks.
