Tales from the Bum Bum patch: a daily report from the frontlines of motherhood.

BlogHer Original Post

There's an entire culture out there that I've just discovered and I'm very excited to learn more about it.
in a newsroom laying out newspaper pages for the past eight years has
left me in the dark when it comes to the world of blogs. And almost all
online technology - except Google, of course.
I swear, the first
time I learned about blogging I was in university and blogs where
really for geeks and nerds (are we still calling them that?). At the
time blogs were BORING.
Call me a nerdy, geeky, whatever, but I'm hooked on blogging.
And I've found lots of moms who are right here with me sharing their lives on their blogs. Go moms!
admit, I've been reading blogs today more than I should have. As usual,
the house is a mess, bottles need washing, dog needs walking ...
to think of it, I wish I would have started this journey when I was in
my early twenties and I didn't have kids. But, I was too busy then
with, well, let's just say other things.
I'm impressed with what a
mom can accomplish in between changing a baby's diapers who is
suffering from a bad case of the runs (it's OK the doctor said it will
be fine, it's just going to take a while to clear up) and wiping the
preschoolers bum.
I figure if I give up my much needed afternoon
naps and hit the blogs it would be just like pulling an all nighter in
university (I sucked at those, I usually fell asleep around 4 a.m. but
lucky for me I have always been an early riser).
Here's to taking on
a new challenge when mom should really be taking a shower, brushing her
teeth, doing crunches or cleaning up something in the house!
