Tapas Anyone??

Okay, so.......have you noticed how many tapas restaurants are popping up in different cities lately?  If you are not familiar with tapas, they are "small plates" or small appetizers which usually cost less than a full meal and allows you to taste different dishes.  Sweet……..

In New York City, Tapas restaurants are very popular.  I found a nice one; originally located in the Tribeca area and has moved to 10th Avenue.  It is called "Flor del Sol".  (100 10th Avenue, NY).

At the time of my visit, the decor and setting was so beautiful that I felt like I was in a Barcelona restaurant.  It was as though I had drifted back in time to one of my vacations.  The manager even opened up the accordion doors at the front of the restaurant which heightened the experience and feeling of being in another place.  I was celebrating the wedding anniversary of my brother and his wife so the atmosphere was even more special.  By the way, the service was splendid!

I ordered about four different tapas while my brother and his wife ordered full meals.  The shrimp tapa was delectable; the stuffed clam (whole clam) was scrumptious; and the chorizo was juicy.  I have tried other tapas restaurants, but this one was the best--with a more extensive menu; prices were also reasonable.

Tapas are the way to go if you are with a group that does not mind sharing.  It gives your "taste buds" the opportunity to sample food that you might not want to order as a full meal.  And, of course, when you are on a budget and don't mind sharing…..you can’t go wrong.
