There are some ingredients I'll absolutely never get tired of, and in the fall, butternut squash probably tops that list.
This delicious variety of winter squash (also called butternut pumpkin in some parts of the world), is a vegetable that I learned to like from my Grandma Denny. Grandma would cut up the squash, scrape out the seeds, and roast it wrapped in foil; then we'd scrape it away from the skin and eat it with lots of butter, salt, and pepper. SO good.
Saving money on everyday purchases seems to have attained a great deal of popularity these days. I suppose this is really nothing new; I have fond memories of my parents pasting Triple-S Blue Stamps (from Grand Union), S&H Green Stamps (from Daitch Shopwell) and Plaid Stamps (from the A&P) into little books that were stored in a kitchen cabinet next to the refrigerator.
