How to Organize an Easy Virtual 5K

I've been asked by a couple of people what went into planning the Winter Is Coming 5K that I used as a fundraiser for RODS Racing. Just to explain from my site, a virtual 5K is "a race you do on your own time. You don’t need to get up early, you don’t need to do it on a weekend, you do it when it works for YOU." People who entered my virtual 5K got a race bib and a medal for completing it, and I raised money for RODS. I did a little light Googling in the early planning stages of the race, but I feel like there's some value to writing a post about how I organized a virtual 5K myself. Eighty-One

My father enjoys sitting in the dark.Sometimes he sits outside, but mostly he sits in the little TV and computer room that my parents made out of one of the spare bedrooms.  It may be late at night, but he keeps all the lights off.  I may see the glow of the television as I walk by; aside from the news shows, my Dad likes watching serials and movies about murders and gangsters and investigations, the bloodier the better.  The ones where the wife kills the husband (or vice-versa) seem to be his favorite....more
