Greetings from Branch you guys! We came out a few days ago and are staying until Friday or Saturday. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already and that the weekend is soon here – I don’t have much planned for the upcoming Friday/Saturday (the last two weeks were pretty jam-packed –> Here & Here) and I’m kind of looking forward to that.
Hiya there... feeling like something cold, something refreshing and something a little bit naughty? Maybe an adult slushy? I have just the thing. Spiked Strawberry lemonade. This is one of those drinks that is pretty. I mean look at it. It looks like the kind of drink you enjoy poolside with a little umbrella just shooting the breeze with friends. The drink you order in secret at a fancy restaurant and quickly drink before other notice . Or the drink you chug the second you step foot at a tropical vacation destination.
Have you always wanted to throw a dinner party but you've never had to courage to invite 12 of your friends over to drink all your wine (while spilling some on the tablecloth, no doubt)? BreakfastSad to say, my garden isn't doing so well this summer. Between the heat and the challenges of bending with my growing baby bump, I haven't done a great job of keeping up with it. However, a few friends have shared their fabulous produce which has included massive zucchini! So I made extra large batches of Zucchini Bread Oatmeal to enjoy throughout the week. In place of brown sugar I used sucanat and omitted the butter, which was perfect for my taste.
Farmer's Market Direct agreed to provide me with one of their Farmer's Market What's in Season Produce and Fruit Baskets in return for my honest review of their service. The gushing about gorgeous, local goodness was entirely my idea. If you haven't noticed, we're kind of devoted foodies around here.
Afraid of bitter foods? Try bittergourd (karela) pickle! Usually, most of us prefer either the sweet goodies or the spicy savory foods. And opt very rarely for the bitter foods. ‘Bitter’ refers to foods having a ‘sharp or harsh flavor’ this is the main reason we avoid this taste. As I set about thinking about this, I tried to recollect the bitter foods which I had tasted. Immediately two name s came to my mind, coffee and bitter gourd. And if I think deeply, these two have different types of bitterness.
Order a bunch of organic food items like capsicums or rocket leaves and you may feel the difference. You are eating healthy because it is food devoid of any chemicals or pesticides but tastes better. When we are consuming organic edibles, we tend to have them often in raw form as they are safer. It does not require much of cooking. Farming for organic food products is guided by many principles – health, ecology, fairness and care. Why Organic Is Good?
This weekend was just one of those great weekends that makes you realize what life is all about. It was a weekend of friendship, laughter, and just enjoying the simple joys together. My family and I were blessed to be invited to spend this past weekend at close friend’s parents’ home in northern Minnesota. What made it really special was that we were joined by three other families, that we have grown so close to and are truly more than friends.. they are family.
I don't know what took me so long to try out Cauliflower Rice. For those of you not familiar, it's pretty simple. You grate cauliflower or throw it in a food processor until it breaks down into rice-sized pieces. Then you just cook it down until tender. Cauliflower Rice is born!
Baking Ezekiel Breads In addition to its high-fiber, high-protein, and low glycemic factor, making your own Ezekiel bread at home allows you to leave out the soy that is found in the commercially processed versions as well as make sure there are no

So I've gained a little weight. When I say “a little,” I mean somewhere in the range of 30 pounds over the past two years. That was on top of the roughly 20 extra pounds I’ve been cushioned with since 2009, when my youngest child was born. None of these pounds have come easily. No, they’ve been the result of hours, maybe whole days spent counting calories, points, steps and serving sizes.
