Easy Lemon Chicken Piccata Recipe

Chicken piccata has always been "restaurant food." Even though I saw a ton of recipes out there … for some reason, I never tried making it. I finally decided that was stupid, and I came up with a great recipe that we love! ...more

4 Reasons Why I Stopped Telling People That I Eat Clean

I've been eating differently from the mainstream for about 7 years now. I've gone through several iterations of "diets." Mainly my way of eating changed as different doctors gave me different advice, as I read more books on nutrition, and as I just figured out what worked for me. I voyaged through gluten-free, then gluten-free and dairy-free, then SCD, then the anti-candida diet and then paleo. Finally I arrived at my current, more moderate way of eating, which I refer to as clean eating. And somewhere along the way, I stopped explaining. I no longer engage in lengthy conversations about why I choose to eat what I eat. I don't even really discuss exactly what's on my "diet" and what's not. You know what? This works so much better for me. I am way happier to not discuss all the nitty gritty of my eating habits outside of my happy little world here on the blog. ...more

Tiramisu Cupcakes. You Heard Me. TIRAMISU CUPCAKES.

The topping is a mixture of thick and creamy mascarpone cheese and whipped cream, with only a tablespoon of sugar so it stays true to the real tiramisu flavor, which isn't overly sweet. Then it's topped with dark cocoa powder for a hint of chocolate. ...more

Make These Blackberry-Thyme Jam Mimosas for Brunch!

One of our favorite brunch drinks is a good mimosa. Though it's usually made with orange juice, we put a little twist on ours by swapping the OJ with blackberry-thyme jam. (Life hack: We made our own jam (which is super easy), but if you are in a rush, simply taking some blackberry jam that you have on hand and heating it until it is a thinner consistency will work, too. ) ...more

Make Some Blackberry Kiwi Tartlets to Celebrate Spring, Vegan Style

To celebrate spring, I worked up this recipe for a vegan fruit tartlet. You can use just about any fruit to fill it, although berries are the easiest, since you don't even have to cut them. California berries are on sale right now, but this will really sing when I can stuff the little crusts with just-picked little juice bombs....more
