We all know that most scrubs and face washes contain microbeads for exfoliating purposes.Microbeads don't dissolve making them terrible for the environment. The push to ban microbeads actually began in 2012 and has now turned into a global issue since this hazardous material has been showing up in waters all over the world.According to a study in Environmental Science & Technology, 8 billion microbeads pollute U.S. aquatic habitats daily, which rounds to approximately 2.9 trillion per year.

Wow was I surprised and delighted at the weather in the northeast yesterday. Here I am freshly returned from Paris, ready to wear my new purchases (some of which are long sleeved) and New York is having a heat wave. So disappointing.  Until yesterday (yay). So I finally got the chance to wear this beautiful bell sleeve top by Paule Ka. The sleeve detail is really gorgeous - and it's a perfect white jeans kind of a top (and it's 50% off right now!). Mind you, adding in some black accents pulled the whole thing together - and I'm in love with these sandals by Stuart Weitzman.

One of the cool things about being in the city of Paris is looking at the many beautiful flower shops that line the streets. They are so completely unexpected in the midst of all the crowds and traffic that it becomes easy to appreciate all things floral. That, of course, brings me to the tunic top I'm wearing. You can't see it from the picture - but the flowers on the top are both embroidered and beaded. The beads add a completely unexpected touch - so like the flower shops in Paris.

A t-shirt, pair of cutoff shorts, and flat sandals are a standard summer outfit– but that doesn't mean those elements have to be boring.

Imagine if you were invited to speak at an event, and no one came. Or perhaps, for better or worse, just maybe, everyone came?

I'm a big fan of easy dresses, especially now in July when it's too hot and most of my brainpower is needed to sort out where I'm&nbs

Going to Paris is an exceptional experience. There are so many things to love about this city and  naturally, for me, one of the things I enjoy the most is  - wait for it - shopping. The clothes here are pretty durned spectacular. I love love love (did I say love?) this top by Vanessa Bruno. You can dress it down, as I did, or up depending upon the occasion - and it's the perfect weight for a hot summer day. Mind you, another enjoyable part of Paris is the architecture. I just can't believe the scale of the buildings and doors here.

For the Fourth of July, or anytime this summer, here's a quick tutorial on how to always look chic in red, white and blue. -PJ GachI love Independence Day. Fourth of July fireworks, cocktails and grilling. Outdoor parties with paper lanterns waving in the breeze...all that fun stuff. What makes me slightly crazy is all the tacky Fourth of July fashions. Do you really need to have the stars on one boob, the stripes on another for a bikini? I've seen lots of cray cray 4th fashion and thought, "Ack! Let me toss up a primer."  You see, you can wear red, white and blue together in an outfit and not look like an escapee clown or a costume shop reject. Read How to Get the Perfect ManiHow you make the outfit work is by utilizing the colors wisely. Check out my three outfits and you'll see what I mean.PoolLisa Marie Fernandez Yasmin rope detailed stretch one-piece, $445,Net-a-Porter, Tommy Hilfiger Atlantic Lobster beach towel, $19.99, Macy’s, Jack Rogers Lauren sandals,$99.99,  Jack Rogers, Miu Miu 55m sunnies, $520, NordstromHere, the focus is on the red one-piece. The accessories, and by the by, you can substitute gold and/or silver for white, create the red, white and blue theme without it looking costumey.  Yes, the beach towel is red, white and blue, but it feels nautical, not like you need to salute it.More outfits after the jump...

One of my most popular posts to date is Lessons Learned From My Favorite Fashion Bloggers. No matter what age we are, we love looking at beautiful fashion and thinking about how we can recreate those looks. I follow the blogs of midlife fashion bloggers - women from 40-70+, who embrace their age and their bodies. These women dress in a way that is appealing to THEM. Their independent spirit, confidence, and fashion sense inspire me.

It sinks your heart when you seriously think about getting old sometimes and how you would look with all those wrinkles and age spots on your face. The bigger problem is that some people get older before their age. Look at Tom Cruise who still looks much younger than most other co-stars of his age. So, what is it that needs to be done to remain beautiful and young for a long time? There is no holy water or magical fountain to help you with that.

Blue and pink is the colorful and eye-catching combo that I decided to adopt this past weekend by wearing a rich royal blue paired with an energetic fuchsia pink.I created a casual everyday look that it is super comfy but cute and stylish at the same time. I am wearing high waist skinnies paired with a sleeveless high neck top, a crossbody, embellished sandals and oversized sunnies. All of these are part of my list of comfortable garments, all put in one outfit! To glam it up I added a statement necklace and some cute jewelry, as well as a nice makeup.

My grandmother loved shoes. She even sent me a fancy high heeled ceramic shoe as a Christmas ornament. Growing up, I never saw fancy shoes in person except for in my favorite glossy pages of Vouge and Bazzar magazines. My mom preferred practicality and budget options for her growing children, which meant that the shoes sections I wandered through had a certain sameness.

Whenever I'm not sure exactly what I feel like wearing - I always go for a look that's  a true classic.  And what could be more so then black and pearls? I secretly like to  imagine that I'm channeling Audrey Hepburn when I wear a look like this one. Cropped pants, flats and mock neck sweaters have seriously been around since her time, hence the term "classic". So if you don't already have these items in your wardrobe - I highly recommend adding them. They mix and match beautifully and will never ever go out of style. Audrey and I promise...

I took the same route to work everyday but never had I seen you before. As I was rushing up 5th Ave I couldn't help but stop and stare. Hours passed at work, but I still couldn't get you off my mind. I pictured us together everywhere. Everyone telling me how lucky I am to have you and how good we look together. After work I decided to stop by the store in hopes you would still be there. You were. My eyes lit up with excitement and my heart was racing. I casually walked in and asked the girl behind the counter about you.

What do you wear on the fourth of July? Why red, white and denim of course. I think it's hands down more fun then the traditional red, white and navy blue. Also, I'm being a bit of a contrarian here. All I see in the stores and online are denim pencil skirts. Don't get me wrong, I like those too - but I bought one last year. So what's a girl to do when it comes to adding freshness to her denim wardrobe? Weeeellll, go a-line.

Furthermore, it also allows women to wear all the colorful and loose dresses they can to feel easy and avoid the hotness of the weather. Fashion trends change from season to season and if you are someone who always wants to look up-to-date with the latest fashion, you have to do some shopping at the arrival of every season. Just like always, there is some really cool stuff out for women to wear this summer.
