Tutorial Tuesday: $2 Spunky Step Stool

Step Stool

After finishing up our closet makeover a few weeks ago, we realized we needed a small step stool to reach our highest row of storage boxes. We wanted something that wouldn't take up much room, would be functional, and, of course, inexpensive, so we wandered to our local flea market to see what we could find. Extreme Couponing One Year Later

Denise's Stockpile

On January 18,2011, I saw a post by Family Frugal about Mr Coupon and his appearance on TLC's Extreme Couponing special. This piqued my interest, and I started exploring the world of coupon bloggers. After a week of digging around in their part of the blogosphere, I had a brilliant idea -- I would become an extreme couponer and I'd blog about it! I was picturing a funny series of three or four posts, most of which would be rambling funny pieces about not being able to manage a complete grocery shopping trip (20 minutes in a grocery store and I was ready to ditch the cart and leave) or public arguments between me and my partner about stockpiling. Do you have one? -Rita]  Read more

Tupperware

If your mother has lots of containers to store leftovers, yet ironically, keeps no food in the house and appears to subsist on biscotti and rice crackers dipped in whitefish salad, she might be a covert hoarder.  Read more >

It's Stressful to Be Cheap

Bills in Jars

I laughed when I read this post by KLZ, because I totally identify with her. My own debt freak-outs come at regular intervals, and I've spent about half of my adult life convinced I'd be out on the street at any minute, no matter how much money I have in the bank. It's been a real challenge for me to accept I'm not going to be able to control my finances all the time -- the world, unfortunately, sometimes intervenes.  Read more
