BlogFest 2012 Day 1: Kips Bay Show House 2012

As I mentioned last week, I was in NYC for Kravet's BlogFest 2012, and it was a great!  On our first day of BlogFest, we attended the prestigious Kips Bay Show House, and this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Kips Bay Show House. All the proceeds are given to The Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club after school and enrichment programs.   This years show house featured, for the first time ever,  2 New York City penthouses on the Upper West Side.  Enjoy!  Read more >

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday off!  I sure am!  I did manage to get my house cleaned and in some sort of order (I need to do a little Spring cleaning), and I spent yesterday at the lake with some friends.  Thank you Donna & Jimmy for the gracious invite, and as always, when I'm with y'all I have a fabulous time!  I think I got a little too much sun on the front and too little on the back (I'm two toned..ha!).  Read more >

I'm moving! Yes! Moving into my own place where I can decorate however I want, do what I want, and pee with the door open. Just kidding. But no really, it's going to be awesome. So lately I've been filling up my Pinterest board with apartment inspiration. I'm excited to decorate and create a home for myself where I'll hopefully be staying for a while ( I ABHOR moving). The color blue, in interior design, is known and selected for it's soft, calming affects.  I love to use blue in my interiors, and I enjoy using the bolder hues as well for it's drama and elegance.  The past couple of years the pastel blue tones have been the trend, especially with browns and neutral tones.  But why only use soft pastel tones of blue?   Read more >

My home has a front porch, a roof deck, a bedroom balcony, a back porch, and a patio to decorate. That is a lot of outdoor seating to maintain, and unfortunately budget restrictions haven't allowed me to utilize our outdoor space to its fullest. However, thanks to Pier 1 Imports, that is all about to change! Over the last five years, my back porch has just been an embarrassing storage area for junk. There aren’t too many women I know who don’t love porches, patios, and decks. This time of year, outdoor living is at the tops of most of our lists, and furnishing an outdoor room can be fun and inspiring. It's a great place to kick off your shoes and hang out and enjoy the sunshine and maybe a breeze. I was so excited when I was given the chance to spruce up my outdoor spaces with pieces from Pier 1's summer collection!Here is what my back patio and yard looked like before and here is what my backyard space looks like now, with beautiful products from Pier 1! I love it so much! Now I am ready to celebrate family gatherings (like Eli’s birthday and Memorial Day) in my new outdoor space!
