July 24th, 2009 kicks off the largest conference for women bloggers
in the world. Bloggers from all over are convening in Chicago to
connect in real life including the See Jane Do team. We went behind
the scenes with BlogHer founders,
Jory Des Jardins and Elisa Camahort to learn blogging basics and
essentials, why blogging works for women, and the steps that led to
this incredible online community for women.
In one of my earlier posts about BlogHer, I mentioned that I was surprised and happy to see the breadth of the sponsors list for the conference. Now that the final sponsors list is up, I wanted to say a bit more about that.
First, here are the sponsors:
Platinum Conference Sponsors
Tide & Bounce
Gold Conference Sponsors
This is a four-week series to help attendees explore Chicago. Please also visit Walking Tour One, Walking Tour Two and Walking Tour Three.
If you haven't checked out the Chicago Walking Tours yet, and are looking forward to getting to know Chicago a bit, we suggest you look into them now. They're chock-full of history, architectural facts, hidden Chicago gems and some of the greatest shopping in the city. BlogHer community member Cynthia Clampitt created three tours, plus put together these tips and fun facts, and we couldn’t wait to share them with you. Read on for a great city guide about the city’s architectural history, expansive public parks, tips for keeping your bearings, and what to do near the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers.
There will be common elements between all of the presenters in that there will be a structure of some form. It is a skill that can be taught by people who have information and the gift of teaching. It is also something that can be learned if you find the right resources.
Let me introduce you to a few of the bloggers who help others to give great speeches and presentations. The first two I met during PresentationCamp Los Angeles. I want to start with them because they demonstrated the very skills other claim to teach.
At BlogHer ’09, you’ll likely notice our Green Initiatives – policies we’ve enacted to help make our conference more sustainable. We’re proud of the ways BlogHer sponsors and the BlogHer community are making a difference, and wanted to highlight specific examples of our efforts to create a more eco-friendly conference.
It's here! The fabulous new Chevy Traverse that we (The BlogRollers and our special guests My Brown Baby and Baby Making Machine) will be rollin' in when we start our "BlogHer or Bust" Road Trip tomorrow.
I have prepared my list for Tim Gunn here and today I worked on packing my clothing and figured out the rest of what I would be taking. Here is the other bit of those clothes I'm bringing. Have you started packing yet? I have my tickets printed for events, parties, BlogHer and the train. I need to print out my Cozi schedule and my Springpad list of items not to forget.
I think it's a great idea to post some info about ourselves before BlogHer, especially for the newbies like me. And I'm not even going to be at the BlogHer sessions, cause I was a little (5months) late signing up, but I will be at LobbyCon and I will hopefully be meeting lots of you at the parties. So, without further ado, the finer points of me ...
