Okay here we go....I am making 2010 my New Healthy Life. I have a problem with prescription pain meds, and chocolate. I am an obese addict. I weigh 235lbs. and I can't keep a bottle of 120count hydrocodone for more than 6 days. I also can't eat just ONE of anything. I have made many New Years resolutions to lose x amount of pounds by the next year. However because of my weight have become addicted to pain pills for my back, it happened slowly over the last 6 years. This year and for the rest of my life I want to be healthy, weight, drug free, and mind HEALTHY....more

Go to most tech or social media conferences, and you'll see what makes BlogHer's events so different. I think that even those most critical of BlogHer conferences (and I have made my own share of complaints) would agree that these events give deserving women a platform and a voice in a sector and profession that still tends to be notoriously male-dominated.
I have a nasty cut on my thumb. I have a painful burn on index finger and an ugly abrasion on my middle knuckle. I did all of this damage to my hands while preparing Christmas dinner. The cut happened when I was chopping onions while reading a recipe. The burn occurred while I was removing a pan from the oven while simultaneously turning off the timer. And I got the abrasion earlier in the day when I scraped my knuckle on the bottom edge of the kitchen cabinet while putting a box of Christmas dishes down between the cabinet and another box. I was also talking on the cell phone at the time.I do not multitask well....more
I took part in a live chat this evening with a couple of people that previously I really had considered icons of social media. I looked up to them and respected their advice. I use the past tense for a reason. During the chat, the main participant who shall remain nameless here (after all I refuse to sink to her (level) repeatedly used the worst kind of profanity and then did her absolute best to shoot down every body’s ideas....more
The idea of making technological New Year's Resolutions came to me as I was trying to figure out how to sync our Xbox 360 with my laptop. And I couldn't figure it out. I had to visit the tutorial. In doing so, I realized that despite having quite a bit of digital media in my house, office and vehicle, I don't use any of it to the fullest capability. All I've ever done is read the "Quick Start Guide" -anything beyond that just isn't on my radar. ...more
I have a subject that has been bothing me for years, and lately has come to the fore front of my brain again with the announcement of yet another "older" man marrying a "younger" woman. This is really a pet peeve of mine. And, why you ask? Because I am 60 years old and have been divorced for 21 years, and have yet to "find" a man my age to even be friends with, let alone consider a companion! (can't even begin to think marriage at this pint!) And, the reason? Men are the most unusal animals around. First, when you attain the "mature" level, and...more
Ahh... the holidays are upon us... Images of sugar plums dancing in our heads while dreaming if Santa Claus will be providing us with treats (or a big fat lump of coal) under our Christmas trees. Who am I kidding?! That is what I want.. those images on the books I read to my son at bedtime.
It began with a question from Texas Mama. She needs to move up to a digital camcorder but doesn’t know what to buy. I understand, it can be a challenge. What most people want is to create a video that will share a memory, a concept or a situation.
