BlogHer Original Post

Tick, tock, tock, tick. New Year's Eve is fast approaching. Don't be caught without a collection of appetizer recipes. No party is complete without a cheesy appetizer or two, so here are a few recipe ideas from favorite food bloggers.

Peanut Butter & Julie ~ Lightened Up Artichoke-Parmesan Dip "Baked artichoke dip ... is an appetizer menu staple and party food favorite. Unfortunately, it is also full of fat and calories when made the traditional way with cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and even cream. ... (my) version ... is a recipe that you can feel good about serving, eating, and even taking seconds!"

Simply Recipes ~ Baked Brie "...one of the world's easiest yet tastiest appetizers."

Nancy's Recipes ~ Wild Mushroom Pizza "I don’t like standing over a hot oven when we have company so I only do a couple of hot appetizers. ... what could be better than a wild mushroom pizza? It’s easy and delicious."

Frantic Home Cook ~ Buffalo Chicken Dip "Here is a manly man’s appetizer that hubby loves to devour while watching manly man things like football or home improvement shows or Days of Our Lives."

Kalyn's Kitchen ~ Stuffed Mushrooms with Feta "Doesn't everyone just love stuffed mushrooms? If you're a meat-eater, you've probably had a version of mushrooms stuffed with some kind of sausage. This non-meat version uses mushroom stems, bread crumbs, kalamata olives, and feta cheese for the stuffing ..."

Flavors of Italy ~ Cheese-Stuffed Bread Round "This easy appetizer will make your guests think you're a gourmet cook!"

A Year of Crockpotting ~ Fancy Cheese Fondue "Very tasty. The kids really liked this more than I wanted them to. I kind of thought this was going to be a grown-up snack, but they ate a LOT. I'm envisioning a fondue party in our future."

Janet Is Hungry ~ Bacon & Cream Cheese Roll-ups "... my friends specifically requested that I make "the bacon things" for the party... and they go pretty fast!"

Annie's Eats ~ Smoked Salmon Rolls "This is a quick and simple way to serve smoked salmon for brunch that is different from the old bagel-and-cream cheese route."

Supermarket Serenade ~ Rosemary Ham & Cheddar Spirals "... the hard part ... lies in choosing some appetizers that are satisfying (while not being too heavy) and don't take too much time to prepare ... ."
