I thought it was a joke until I saw the video of Texas Tech head football coach Mike Leach at a press conference blaming the teams 52-30 loss to Texas A&M on the Tech players “fat little girlfriends”. Here’s what he said in full, “As coaches, we failed to make our coaching points more compelling than their fat little girlfriends. For one thing, their fat little girlfriends are telling them what they want to hear, which is ‘how great you are’ and ‘how easy this is going to be.’” Leach later said he wasn’t sorry for his comments, “As coaches, we have to solve our failure on reaching them and the players have to listen. I’m willing to go to fairly amazing lengths to make that happen,” Leach said. “I don’t know if I will be successful this week or not, but I’m going to try. There will be some people inconvenienced and if that happens to be their fat little girlfriends, too bad,” ESPN reported. A new web site, fatlittlegirlfriend.com, has since formed and is selling merchandise including t-shirts and mugs. The t-shirt reads, “Wreck ‘Em Tech: Proud Home of the Fat Little Girlfriend”. I know that Leach has a law degree and is the big dick at Tech but he could have showed a little jurisprudence at the press conference. Calling your football players soft is one thing, but insulting women at Tech and treating them like little Delilah’s is just wrong. What’s Leach’s problem? Really? Has Leach looked in the mirror lately? Talk about a fat little girlfriend. (And here’s a picture of his wife.) Look Leach, if you want your players to win, stop insulting their girlfriends and start being a better coach. If your players heads aren’t in the game, they’re certainly not going to be now. Cuz insulted women will let their men know they are not happy! If anything, Leach’s ego needs to go on a diet. And ladies of Lubbock, you are gorgeous girls and if boys are distracted by your good looks and not their jerk off coach, that’s a good thing! The Raiders play the Jayhawks this Saturday.
