Things I'm Loving Thursday
By marykathleen on August 06, 2012
To tell you the truth, this week has been a blur and I've not really had much time to stop and smell the roses. As far as what I've been loving, does getting to bed at a reasonable hour count? Maybe, but that's boring, so here are some things I have been obsessed with:
Black Dog Gelato: I love me some gelato and Kevin and I recently dicovered Black Dog Gelato at Damen and Iowa in Ukrainian Village. Many unique flavors to choose from. I got a side by side cup of the blood orange and malted vanilla. I liked the malted vanilla the best, not your average plain old vanilla, let me tell you! I am sure we will be heading back there soon!
Tippi Sweater in Polka Dot from J.Crew: And the J.Crew obsession continues. I think this sweater would look awesome with skinny jeans and ballet flats for fall. Again, crazy expensive, about $90 for this sweater, so I really really should be perusing J.Crew for sales. Where were these cute items a few years ago when I was working at J.Crew and had a 50% discount???
This Photo of Barack and Michelle Obama:Standing by the lakefront, gazing at the skyline of the most beautiful city in the world. Enough said. Any guess who I will be voting for in November? But let's all be friends, 'kay?
The 2012 Olympics: Have you noticed that I'm kind of obsessed with the Olympics? Yeah, totally am. Loved that the U.S. women's gymnastics team won the gold, loved that a lot of U.S. swimmers have won gold, loved diving too (they're amazing!). The media gets a little crazy with all of this, (like following around a tearful Jordyn Wieber after she didn't qualify for the women's gymnastics all around finals--that was ridiculous!) but I have been tuning in for a significant amount of coverage. Even yesterday at the gym I had the Olympics on while I was on the elliptical--great motivation by the way!
