Things That Made Me Smile This Week

This week I had some traveling and was on the road quite a bit.  These were some of the things that made my trip this week enjoyable.

kombucha, synergy, probiotics, probiotic drink
Kombucha: synergy

This is my new favorite roadie bev.  It is a probiotic drink otherwise known as kombucha.  Its fizzy, fermented yumminess got me through the long car ride.  Kombucha is made from a colony of live bacteria and yeast.  There is no clinical human study showing health benefits, but some in animals.  This is a great article with more information.  It also goes over some harmful evidence of home brews so I stick with the bottle!

Before I hit the long road to the other side of SC, I stopped in at one of my favorite local joints called Everyday Organic.  It is located on the backside of a shopping center, and it can be a little hard to find if you weren't actually looking for it.  I love it because they use organic local ingredients and have a variety of vegan/vegetarian options.  It take a little time, so don't expect McDonald's 60 second or less service, but the food is absolutely fabulous! They offer a variety of baked goods, have dinner specials, and nightly desserts.  It is well worth it to go out of your usual way to check this place out! I had a vegan breakfast sandwich that consisted of tempeh bacon, tofu scramble, vegan biscuit with tomato.  They have an abundance of organic veggies you can add to the sandwiches but I needed to keep mine road-trip worthy.  YUM!

After a long drive and days work, I got a chance to relax on the Marsh Walk in Murrel's Inlet, SC.  I cannot believe  I have been coming here for work for years and never stopped to see what was on the other side of the highway! I enjoyed a walk along the boardwalk, live music and a long row of restaurants.  I was in sensory overload as to which one to pick!

The last but DEFINITELY not least thing that made me smile was to see that one of my favorite hot yoga spots was offering $79 unlimited monthly yoga (ends July 10th!).  I am definitely taking up this offer as it is a $50 savings! Check out Zanti Yoga if you haven't already!

I hope you all have a lovely and safe Fourth of July! I will be enjoying the lake, great food, and fireworks. What will you be doing?
