Think Before You Post
By DaniKay13 on December 01, 2012
Once again I realize I am one of many handing out the same advice, but my hope is that by hearing or seeing it ONE more time someone may think before they post that tidbit of personal information that should not be public, or the hurtful comment they intend to make as a knee-jerk reaction.
In the last week I have seen several posts go up, and then go down. The rule of thumb is: if therre's a chance you may take it down, don't post it all. These posts may seem like they are no big deal, but before you know it you have started a shit storm with no end.
Truth of the matter is that reactions can range from a snide comment to an out and out war of words. They can also lead to threats of bodily harm depending on the subject matter.
It's the holidays. Avoid bad traffic on your page by carefully considering the content of each and every blog, facebook post or tween before you post. It's good practice to write it out, wait an hour and see if you still feel the same way. Also, ask yourself, Am I ready for the response? if the answer is no delete without posting.
Save yourself the trouble.
