Tile Wood Floors Are Great Alternative to Natural Wood Floors

Many people love the look of wood floors.  They add warmth to a space and are a versatile material that has proven to stand the test of time.  Unfortunately, not all spaces are conducive to wood floors, such as wet areas: bathrooms, mudrooms, etc.

Typically, our bathrooms, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and side entries have tile floors due to materials lack of water absorption and easy clean-ability.  But many homeowners love their wood floors and would love to use them in those 'wet' rooms.

Within the past few years, several tile and flooring companies have given us that option.  There are ceramic and porcelain tiles that are made to look like wood.  Not only does the finish look like wood, but also they are offering the wood tiles in varying sizes (length & width).  So if you like your wood floors to have varying width & length, this is a great option.

Can you tell these are porcelain wood tiles?

The options for tile wood floors have doubled within the past year--the finishes range from pickled white to dark walnut.  And as mentioned above, there are several sizing options.  If you like the wood and stone floor combination, this is another great alternative because cleaning real stone & real wood together can be a challenge since they are different materials and have to be cleaned with different cleaning solutions. So give tile wood floors a consideration.  What do you think?  Will you give this wood alternative a try?
