Tim Tebow: Amazing Grace

Tebow did it again.

Just as it seemed as if the Denver Broncos would blow a 14-point halftime lead in Sunday's AFC wild-card game, Tebow delivered.

In a win or go home game, the Bronco's QB stunned the Pittsburgh Steelers with an electrifying 80-yard touchdown strike  for a 29-23 win to advance to the second round of the National Football League (NFL) playoffs.

If you missed the instant classic that was the Broncos/Steelers OT game, check out the recap.

When Tebow connected with Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime, there was a noticeable spike in the overall volume of social media messages. Wild doesn't begin to describe what happened. The play took 11 seconds and was the quickest ending to an overtime in NFL history. It's a miracle the game didn't shut down Twitter.

"When I saw him scoring, first of all, I just thought, `Thank you, Lord,"' Tebow said. "Then, I was running pretty fast, chasing him -- Like I can catch up to D.T! Then I just jumped into the stands, first time I've done that. That was fun. Then, got on a knee and thanked the Lord again and tried to celebrate with my teammates and the fans."

Tebow, who engineered five fourth-quarter comebacks and three OT wins in the regular season, wasted no time in finding Thomas to end the game.

The sellout crowd of 75,658 fans at Sports Authority Field at Mile High was delirious as Tebow threw the deep cross to Thomas, who cut to the right sideline, stiffed armed a couple would-be tacklers, and raced through the end zone and into the tunnel leading to the locker room.

Tebow threw for 316 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another score as he outdueled Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.  The most retweeted tweet of the day? " threw for 316 yards... John 3:16. Coincidence? I think not."  Even his stat sheet spouts bible verses.

The win was a comeback that only the most devout Tebow fans believed would happen. It was also the latest in a series of 11th-hour heroics from the 24-year-old quarterback who had been maligned in recent weeks. Acutely aware of the insults, naysayers, and jeering, Tebow ratcheted up the intensity today.

Now, the endless debate on Tebow’s abilities as a quarterback had been drowned out by a raucous celebration. After the win, Tebow circled the stadium, exchanging high-fives with Broncos fans who were still trying to process what just happened.

Even Lady Gaga was impressed. A Giant's fan, she tweeted " Thats what the f**k a champion looks like."

Love him or hate him, the fact is 24 starting NFL quarterbacks will be at home watching Tebow in the playoffs next week.

Looks like Tebow mania is back.
