Tinker Bell Half Marathon recap

It’s been a week since I ran the Tinker Bell Half Marathon, and it’s been a year since I’ve ran Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge. It turns out that I really enjoy running the Disney races, having the characters and the photo stops on the course makes the miles go by so quickly, even though the miles go by v e r y  s l o w l y.  I mean, I think we looked at our watches at the 5k mark and we were hovering 57 minutes. WHAT!?

That’s what happens when you stand in line for photos though, your pace gets into the double digits. The good news is that this race was a definite negative split. Ha!

I don’t care, though. I really don’t. Disney is not a race to set an sort of personal records at. It’s all about having fun and perfecting the race pose. That said, I’m never not doing princess arms for a race again!

My favorite course so far is the Disney World Marathon, which I know, I know …. 26.2 miles!!!! But honestly, you go through all four of the parks there’s entertainment at every corner. It’s insanely fun! Tinker Bell comes in second, even though there were only photo opportunities and Disney entertainment for the first 6 miles (actually only mile 1-6, the first mile was a lonely, dark run around the outside of Disneyland). The last half of the race takes you through the streets of Anaheim, California. It’s just like any other street race, except there’s a zillion tutus and glitter.
