Tip Please.

Alright, I'm gonna hit that hard subject. I seem to be hitting alot of hard subjects. Mainly because I want to express how I feel, but then I know SO many people feel different. If you do, you do. Don't start an arguement or hate me because we think differently.

Waitors, Waitresses. Tips. Yep, there it is.
So many EXPECT a tip. I'm not the kind of person that goes into a restaurant and say, I'm not tipping today. I don't have enough money. I'm the kind of person that tips on how good you are. If you don't pay attention to my table or lack service, I'm not going to give you a good tip.  Many think they deserve it, you earn it. You can't treat people like crap and expect a $15 tip...

I have had my share of awful servers. And I mean AWFUL! I left a penny. Which means, you need to step it up. I have had ONE AMAZING waitress and we left her $15. Big difference from a penny. All the rest are decent and I leave a 10-15% tip. I'm not rich, so don't expect a $15 if you are amazing.

I have heard that servers treat certain people with certain service. Here are some examples...
1. The kids. "Oh, these are some young kids. They don't have any money and no matter how I treat them, they won't leave anything." Last time I checked, no one was a mind reader. Or can see through things like wallets. You never know how much someone has.

2. The family. "They are more worried about getting in & out and having quiet kids." I have two young children, 1 & 3. And a husband. I leave tips.

3. The elderly. "They just want someone sweet. I will kiss a**." I really have nothing to say about that, but it is funny. Even an elderly person can be mean.

4. The couple. "They don't even care what's going on but each other." They still want great service. If it's a first date, the guy (or even girl these days) wants it to be perfect. Including the service.

I can't say that I've been a server. And now you're going... "Wow, you don't even know what you're talking about. We get paid $2.13 an hour and live on tips." HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I HEARD THAT ONE?! I understand, it's hard times. And two dollars is nothing. But you can't expect something. Nothing is expected. Nothing.

Now, I'm not saying you should treat everyone like the queen or king, but friendly service, make sure we're okay. Have our drinks filled. Simple really.

If you disagree, okay. Everyone has their own opinion. Write a blog about it if it annoys you, I did.
