How can I “winterize” this dress? Is there any way to do so? I’m not a knee-high boots person (or, really, a boots person at all sadly). And, quite frankly, I’m not sure it’s ever going to get cold here anyway… but let’s just say it does.
Crist

This is a terrific dress, one that is flattering on a wide range of figures. Crist is already working it, with her fantastic necklace and the lace cami, but she will need to add some layers to wear it for colder weather, even in the South.

Printed flutter sleeve dress, Gap, currently on sale for $44.99
Start by adding a knit jacket or slim cardigan to the existing ensemble. Choose a sweater that hits at the hip, right where the skirt flares out; any longer than that and the line of the dress will be off. Because the dress has a fluid, fluttery shape, a very structured jacket will not work; instead, look for something with some movement and softness (a knit, rather than a woven fabric).
This dress would also be terrific with a basic V-neck cardigan, belted at the waist, or a wrap sweater; the cami/dress/sweater layers offer warmth and movement. Because the dress is black, it can be layered under virtually any color sweater. For a sleeker look, opt for a black cami and a bright sweater.
What about on the bottom? Knee-high black boots are of course the simplest default, but Crist isn't a boots girl. Instead, she can opt for opaque tights and flats or pretty peep toes. Match tights to the dress, for a long leg line; go with black shoes for an even LONGER line, or with bright shoes for a pop of color.
Finish with a dramatic necklace or earrings.
Thinking about the Big Picture? So are these girls.
