Conference Corner: Schedule Updates for BlogHer '12

If you ask me what the best video game ever created it, I will without hesistation tell you that TETЯIS: The Soviet Mind Game by Tengen. You can't get Tengen Tetris anymore; in fact, you couldn't a month or so after it came out. It was really a brilliant video game, even for 8 bit, and it's a big reason why I love working as Conference Programming Manager for BlogHer today. So much of what we do on the Programming Team has to do with fitting square boxes into right angled spaces and making everything flow together seamlessly....more

A month from today, BlogHer Food '12 will be winding down in Seattle. Can you believe it? We hardly can! There's just so much to do between now and then -- which includes registering for this amazing conference if you haven't yet done so! We're still working to bring you some interesting, bite-sized interviews from our amazing speakers every week, and this week I stepped outside of the food box and asked a thought-provoking question: What's one surprising thing you learned via food blogging? The answers are as unique as the bloggers, which is always a treat....more

The Marriage of The Entrepreneurial Spirit and Responsibility, brought to you by BlogHer Entrepreneurs Sponsor Liberty Mutual

Last month's BlogHer Entrepreneurs '12 Conference is one that's near and dear to my heart, and to Lisa and Jory's. We know that we could never have sustained building BlogHer over these last seven years without mentorship, without expanding and deepening our networks, and without taking advantage of the many resources and support systems out there for small businesses. We hope this conference helps other entrepreneurs find resources and support....more

You Don't Belong Here

It's funny how when you're a teenager, going through your awkward phase decade, you think "I can't wait to be a little older.  I'll be so much more confident when I'm older/in college/married."  And then you get older/graduated/married and you still haven't shaken those feelings. ...more

Tips for BlogHer Conference Newbies!

I am going to BlogHer this year. I can’t pass it up since it is in New York City. The last time I attended the conference, it was amazing. There is just so much a blogger can learn. Plus who doesn’t want to meet all the bloggers you have made connections with over the years?Well and meet new bloggers. At BlogHer 2010 when I became the Wine Fairy I also met several awesome bloggers I talk to almost daily still. It is like a sisterhood. A great sisterhood. And once a year we all get together to learn and party. With an emphasis on party. It is always a good time....more

New York, New York

A question for those of you who have been to, or would like to visit at some future time, New York City: If you had a fairly limited, but as-yet-unscheduled block of time - in this case, several hours on a Sunday morning/afternoon in early August after BlogHer '12 and before returning to Canada - what would you choose to do and/or see? Where would you go? How would you spend your time? ...more
