"I've been going to the Tribeca Film Festival for a couple of years now and one of the strongest parts of the festival has been the documentaries. Each year I manage to see a couple that I can't get out of my head. This year one of the films was Lioness, a film about women soldiers on the front lines in the war in Iraq. Yes, women soldiers are on the front lines in Iraq.

American Idol Recap: The Top 4 "Rock Out" (?)

New Wave, Reggae, Doo Wop, Soul, Folk...I heard about everything except rock and roll, how about you?

Sigh. This is the American idol season that simply should have been better. Early promise has fizzled into mind-numbing same-ness. I am disappointed in you, my little Idol children.

Last night each contestant performed two songs from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of 500 most influential songs. So, can I start off by saying I am shocked that "Hungry Like the Wolf" is even ON that list?

I have been pretty accurate with the elimination prognostication so far, but I don't know if I'll get it right this week. This due to a crop of mostly strong performances, and a group of judges who seemed to be seeing very different performances than I did.
