The Chicago White Sox are having a rough year. They were in the
middle of a losing streak when someone (possibly outfielder Nick
Swisher) decided that good way to boost team morale would be to put two
naked inflatable dolls in the clubhouse. These blow-up dolls were
wearing signs that said "Let's Go White Sox" and "You've Got to Push".
Well, somebody pushed because one of the dolls had a bad shoved up her butt.
Aren't the White Sox classy gentlemen?
.... moreSaturday’s Kentucky Derby race – for many folks, the only horse race they notice all year – has, once again, brought unwelcome attention to the spendy sport.
.... moreA lot of things happened in sports the last week or so. Some of these events were historic and some were just embarrassing.
Let's take a look at some of the highlights.
Last weekend saw one of my favorite events of the year - the NFL draft. SportsSquee posted The Girls Guide to Football: Talking About the NFL Draft.
Jay-Z released a song about the NBA playoffs.

Needless to say male fans were left salivating for more, our culture guardians gasping at the "vulgarity", purists demanding that the "Indian" sport be spared of such cheap thrills, and some fence sitters (me included) wondering and analyzing to no end what this all means and if all this fuss is warranted.

I've been to four – out of 8 – classes so far, so at least I feel like I’ve given it enough of a chance to say that I’m not in love with it.
.... moreI remember being 14 years old and preparing for an upcoming school trip that was stopping in Montreal. It was exciting but it was also June 1993 and one week before my trip the Montreal Canadians won the Stanley Cup. A cause of excitement for sure but Montreal took it one step forward and had a full out riot. For a small town girl this was more than a little intimidating. We toured the city and had a guided tour of the Forum (alas, missed Lord Stanley's Mug by a day). My 14 year old self had no idea that I'd return to Montreal to live on two occasions (so far). I've come to appreciate many things about this city since that first trip, including that it knows how to throw one heck of a party. The problem is the line between reveling and rioting seems to be fuzzy for some people and this week my city exploded after the Montreal Canadians won their first round in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
