Finally, a prize for de-plasticking! Yep, you can win an iPod Nano -- the color of your choice -- for just an hour of eco-think. Just share your best design idea with Core77 on this theme: Ban Plastic Bags!

That's right -- Submissions're open for the latest Core77 One Hour Design Challenge -- and due Oct. 8, 1 pm PST. (via Treehugger)

Most of you already bring your own bags, yes? After all, BlogHer's own Debra Roy's shared some funky DIY bag inspirations :) But if you need more encouragement, check out this hardcore lifestyle stuff:

Tess' Trash Challenge. One Pasadena, Calif. woman decided to carry around all her non-recyclable garbage around for 2 weeks -- and challenge others to do the same. Her work's ended, but maybe yours is about to begin?

Both Envirowoman in Vancouver, Canada, and Beth Terry of Fake Plastic Fish in Oakland, Calif. have been de-plasticking their lives, posting weekly and monthly visual updates of their progress.

Life without plastic in today's world's a mix of performance art and serious vigilance -- with a good dose of humor and fun, it seems. Try it yourself, and lemme know how it goes. Or at the very least, de-plastic your trip to the farmers' market!
