trapped - forced to turn and face attackers
In
a recent show on NPR an interviewer was talking with Aron Ralston
referring to a book he had written recounting a near death experience
he had while hiking. The book was called A Rock and a Hard Place.
I was very interested in what he had to say. It seems Ralston survived
the unthinkable because he allowed himself to think outside the box. I
found it the idea fascinating. Outside.online ran a segment of the book and described the man's experience by saying:
Deep inside a remote canyon, a boulder
shifts. In an instant, a climber's hand is pinned beneath half a ton of
rock. So begins an ordinary hero's six-day ordeal of grit, pain, and
courage—a modern-day survival epic that culminates in a decision to do
the unthinkable.
I was struck by his experience and its similarity to the
experience people are having today. Let me explain....
