Travel Makeup Tips
It's that time of the year again and you're sooo ready to kick off that work gear and just see the sun. Summer is here and that means lots of vacationing, traveling, and just plain going out. But wherever you're going, you still want to look you very best. Here, I'm going to show you some tips and tricks you can use to make traveling much much easier.
1.) Use Multi-tasking products
Got that lip balm/lip color in one tin? It's a great option for traveling because it takes the job of several products. This makes your load much lighter. Some other multi-tasking products are creamy lip-to-cheek products, tinted lip balms, BB Creams with SPF, etc.
2.) Use Sample Products You've Tried Before
I just so happen to have a small sample of UD's Primer Potion, which is what I've been using for eye primer. This is a great way to lighten up the load. If you have any other sample sizes of things you use, it's a good time to whip them out. Note however, that you shouldn't be using things you haven't sampled before. I'm saying this because to prevent you from having a potentially bad reaction to products while you're on your vacation. That's a no-no you want to avoid.
3.) Recycle Clean Empty Tins
Just finished that lip balm in a tin? Well, don't just throw it out! Mini tins are great for travelling because they're usually spill proof, have super cute packaging and are small enough to fit in a travel makeup bag. If you don't have any empty tins, then you can purchase small empty plastic containers. (I usually am against just because there's usually a lot of things you can end up recycling.)
4.) Whip Out All Your Traveling Goodies
Got a travel makeup brush? Or travel brush roll? Or a some mini makeup brushes? What about that miniature concealer concealer you've got? Now is a great time to use these things. Sure, they may not be as high quality as the ones you're using regularly, but it's a great time to put those aside for now and just use the ones made for travelling.
5.) Full Face Palettes
Not really photographed up there, but these babies could save you a lot of makeup space. If you've a got a palette that includes, lippies, blushes and eyeshadow, then this is a perfect opportunity to put them to good use! Note however, that if you're only planning on using one or two of the things from the palette, it's better off to just skip the palette.
6.) Remember to Rehydrate
It's easy to forget that the most important beauty tip is to keep yourself hydrated. Nothing dries your face faster than dehydration. Make sure to constantly have water on hand. Packing reusable bottles with built in water filters is a great idea if you don't like drinking from the tap. On my recent trip, the BF used a filtered water pitcher. It was so helpful keeping it in the hotel. Plus it saves on having to buy water bottles all the time.
I hope these tips have been helpful.
