Mallory at Serial Drama puts it best: "We only have one episode left of season three of True Blood. Let me repeat, with italics to convey my dread and horror: we only have one episode left of season three of True Blood."

What are fans of the HBO vamp show to do until season 4 premieres in summer 2011? You could catch up on Charlaine Harris' Southern Vampire Mysteries books, on which the show is based. You could rent Six Feet Under, also by Alan Ball and very worthy. You could go check out what Bella's up to, or see what the Vampire Diaries is all about.

Or there's always a little reminiscing to do. This summer provided more than its share of memorable moments. Here are mine:

Top 5 True Blood Pop Culture Moments This Season

5. Sookie + Bill IRL: Anna Paquin Marries Stephen Moyer

Actors Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin from the drama series True Blood arrive at the 16th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles in this January 23, 2010 file photo. Paquin and Moyer have married in Malibu a year after announcing their engagement, U.S. celebrity magazines reported on August 22, 2010. 4. Gay vamp sex scenes. My, it's hot in here.

3: That drippy, bloody True Blood cover of Rolling Stone. There needs to be a word that describes something that's hot AND gross.

2: All the Sookie vs. Snooki comparisons this summer (I'm particularly fond of Sookie or Snooki: Who Said It? by BuzzSugar).

1: Snoop Loves Sookie.

I'm with Deb that Russell was a major high point of this season's "True Blood."

His "Time for the weather Tiffany," had me rolling on the floor.

Sam's hot dream about Bill was also one of the high points for me this season.

Next season, they promise more witches. Bring 'em on!

Denis O'Hare played the character of Russell perfectly and MADE this season in my opinion. Scooping up Talbot's remains? OMG. Cooing to a prostitute before staking him to say goodbye? That was some kind of writing and unbelievably acted with a stunning balance of macabre romance, humor and grief. And his monologue after storming the TV station was one of the best TV moments this year, period. "...Why would we seek equal rights? You are not our equals. We will eat you. After we eat your children. Now time for the weather, Tiffany?"
