Cute Chambray Clothing for Spring

BlogHer Original Post

March is a lovely time of year. There's still a hint of chill in the air, but I can feel spring sneaking in. It's also lovely because I usually pick up something to add to my closet to transition from leggings and sweaters to skirts and cute flats. This year, everywhere I look, I see chambray. And, funny thing, all those emails from the Gap and JCrew have done their job - I'm hankering for something pale blue, lightweight, and wearable.

Here are some choices: (low to high)

Old Navy

Cheap and easy, this little tunic/dress is from Old Navy. Pop a turtleneck underneath it on cold days and wear with boots and leggings.

Land's End Canvas

Have you heard about Land's End Canvas? You should click over there immediately. Fabulous prices, great looking clothes (I've seen some in person and the quality is worth mentioning) and totally wearable. This is the same sort of dress with a slightly longer hemline. Cute with that striped tee under it, no? Pick up some wedges while you're at it!

Talbots has a beautiful new women's line. I'll give you time to explore it but wanted to point out that this chambray top is the perfect building block for an outfit:

That's a nice neckline to work with, the top would be great with capri pants or a skirt and could be good belted too. I'm going on a Talbots field trip in a couple of weeks.

Here's Anthropologie's go at it.

I see it with flat sandals, a tan and a big beach-y necklace. Maybe a hat!

Finally, the splurge (you know I love to include a splurge), something from Prada!

Okay, maybe I don't have $980 to spend on a chambray dress this spring, but it's fun to browse, isn't it?
